The main considerations of the MEP designs were focused around sustainability and reducing running costs of the facilities.

Philip Kennedy Centre – 2-level 52-bed extension integrated into the existing nursing home.

Lourdes Valley Aged Care – Two storey nursing home building with 55 rooms, 50 undercroft carparks.

Huntfield Heights Aged Care – New 180 bed nursing home (stage 1), with provision for an additional 40 beds (stage 2).

The main considerations of the MEP designs were focused around sustainability and reducing running costs of the facilities. This has included:

  • VRV air conditioning, which, with inverter technology, achieves significant savings in energy, running costs and space.
  • T5 fluorescent lighting, a high performance solution which has the potential to cut the energy use in lighting by 65%
  • Solar Hot Water Units, which have been used to reduce one of the largest impacts on the nursing home’s energy bill, as well as cut their emission of Greenhouse Gases.
