Meinhardt Welcomes Former City of Whitehorse Planning Manager To The Team

Paul McAleer has joined Meinhardt Planning as an Associate, having spent the last few years managing the planning team at Whitehorse City Council

Paul brings to Meinhardt a wealth of experience from his 18 years in the planning, design and development industry. Paul has worked extensively in both public and private practice, managing major projects and facilitating development in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

Paul has been particularly pivotal influencing the change in skyline in the Box Hill MAC during his time with Whitehorse City  Council.

A key focus throughout Paul’s career has been negotiating good planning outcomes through the planning application process. Where applications are appealed, Paul has considerable experience and a good win ratio representing local authorities and clients at VCAT.

He also has previous planning and project management consulting experience in Australia coordinating major master planning, design and development projects and managing a range of planning permit applications and VCAT appeals.

Overseas highlights include a planning/ development manager role with English Partnerships (National Regeneration Agency) in the UK co-ordinating the delivery of a number of high-profile, exemplar major development projects and project lead with the London Borough of Sutton on the front end facilitation and delivery of the ground breaking plans for the Hackbridge ‘Sustainable Suburb’.
