We are pleased to welcome Paul Doody (right) and Brian Parker (left) to the Meinhardt team, who join as State Sector Leader – Property & Buildings (QLD) and Discipline Leader – Structures (NSW)

Paul is based in our Brisbane office and brings a wealth of experience covering design, project management and construction experience across a diverse range of projects. This experience includes projects in Australia, the South Pacific and in Europe for contractors, institutional, Government and private clients.

Having worked for a Tier 1 Contractor Paul is acutely aware of the challenges contractors face and what they require from their consultants. Providing elegant and cost effective design solutions is a key passion of Paul’s.

Major projects under Paul’s Leadership include:

Gold Coast University Hospital – Paul managed the structural, civil and landscape aspects of this $1.76b project on behalf of Lend Lease and Queensland Health.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital – Paul managed the structural, civil and landscape aspects of this $1.8b PPP project on behalf of Exemplar Health (Lend Lease, Capella, Siemens, Spotless)

University of Leicester – Biomedical Sciences Building, Leicester UK – Paul was the Lead Structural and Civil Engineer for this 8 storey major research laboratory building for the University of Leicester.

Brian will work out of our Sydney office and has more than 30 years’ experience in management and design in Australia and the United Kingdom, as well as New Zealand, Indonesia, the Middle East and Singapore.

He has worked in and led multidisciplinary design teams on a range of projects including Roads, Rail, Airports, Maritime, Energy, Mining, Water, Defence and Buildings. He is passionate about creating innovative solutions in collaboration with all design disciplines to deliver holistic project outcomes.

Major projects under Brian’s leadership include:

GPO Redevelopment No. 1 Martin Place – The project comprised of a 45 level office tower, 45 level 5 star hotel, with shopping precinct and 1,000 seat convention centre in and around the heritage GPO enclosed by a glazed atrium.

Energy 2U Alliance $8B – Lead Structural Engineer for the $8 billion power transmission and distribution upgrade project for Energy Australia (Ausgrid). This project was an alliance between the client, designer and the contractor.

Ravensworth North Coal Mine – MIA Lead Structural Engineer for $300m phase of $1.4B expansion of the existing mine. This Project involved the upgrading of the existing Mining Infrastructure Area, relocation of two Power transmission lines, relocation of a significant local road and new conveyors to rail loaders.
