Meinhardt were engaged by Parks Victoria in relation to improvement works at Point Nepean National Park. The park comprises approximately 560 hectares of Crown Land (National Park) located on the Mornington Peninsula approximately 90 km south of Melbourne.

The works included improvements to the existing road network, creation of additional car parking areas and services infrastructure including the renewal and upgrading of electricity supply, sewer, water (supply and fire mains), gas supply and provisions for communications and data.

The overall design was developed having strong regard to the significant cultural, heritage, and ecological values of the site. Through careful design, a well resolved response has been prepared which is responsive to the site’s context.

The project required regular liaison with State and Local Government representatives, and the preparation of a detailed plans and reports having a strong regard for the site’s unique context. The project also required a strong appreciation of the future possible uses within the park to enable infrastructure to be designed and appropriately coordinated.
